About us

About the Assist Ability Australia Shop

We supply the consumables people actually use day to day, including
continence aids, wound care, urinary care, enteral feeding and PPE, delivered tohomes right across Australia. Assist Ability has been an NDIS registered provider, working alongside participants and the people who support them, and the shop grew directly out of that work because it kept showing us what was missing.

What we learned before we sold anything

Ordering consumables on an NDIS plan tends to be more work than it ought to be, because sorting out who pays, what's claimable and when it's actually going to turn up eats into time that participants and their families don't have spare in the first place. The bigger issue is fit. A lot of suppliers stock whatever moves quickly and ship it with the cheapest option, which works out fine for everyone except the person who ends up living with a product that only nearly does the job. And the people who genuinely know what works, meaning participants themselves along with the support workers and allied health professionals around them, weren't really being asked.

How we do things differently

1. NDIS payments are just what we do. Whether you're Plan Managed, Self-Managed or NDIA Managed, we handle all three every day of the week, so the claiming side of things isn't something you need to puzzle out on your own.

2. Our range is shaped by the people using it. Stock decisions here come from what participants and the professionals working with them tell us, so when something isn't quite right we hear about it and we change what we carry.

3. If you can't find what you need on the site, just let us know because tracking down the items that suit is

The same team behind our support work

Shop enquiries come through to the same staff, sitting in the same office, who support our participants every day, so there's no call centre or outsourcing. If you get in touch about sizing, funding or an order that hasn't shown up yet, you're speaking to someone who deals with all of it regularly.

Who owe are

Assist Ability is a registered NDIS provider and a Child Safe organisation, and the standards we're held to as a provider are the same ones we apply to how we run the shop.
